Writing Chameleon

You have a style. A voice.  A way of writing that meets your style and needs.  Maybe you want to make some money or you want to get more exposure for your talents. When you take your work public and begin to write for others you may discover you have to change how you write to meet their needs.

I just had an article published at Beliefnet.com (link below).  It had been published previously but in order to meet the style and format needs of Beliefnet I had to be willing to adjust the article accordingly. That meant going through the piece and editing out favorite lines, updating the content, rearranging whole paragraphs and adding new content. The essence of the article was there but now it could meet a whole new audience.

Can you adjust? How do you edit to meet the needs of someone else?  In upcoming  posts look for tips on how to do just that.
