Where have I been?
By Sandra Lee Schubert | October 21, 2008
Wow, I can’t believe it has been a month since my last post. Where have I been? Well, writing. Two columns, an article for Beliefnet.com, one short story in progress. Also doing some blog posts for another site…
In the meantime, I have taken a publishing workshop. I am learning about Squidoo pages, sales and landing pages.
This creative stuff is time consuming. Learning stuff. Implementing. Keep all the balls in the air. Ducks in a row.
How about you? Do you find things can be a little too much? Creativity takes work. First, it is the inspiration, the desire to put something on paper. Then you have to edit it. After that… where does it go? Do you post it on a blog? Or submit for publication? Maybe you have a great idea for a book.
But then you realize there is prep work. Not only do you have to write the book, then you have to make sure the world will read it. Gone are the days when a publisher held your hand. You have to do the marketing. Oh wait. I am supposed to be making this better!!!
Ok this is it. Creativity does take work. Get over it. Parse it out. Break it down into smaller bites. Take 15 minutes each day and work on promotion. 15 minutes to write. 15 minutes to network. That is 45 minutes a day.
Just 45 minutes! I can do that. You can do it. Let us just do it. How about it? Are you with me? I am with you.
Ok, ready, set, go… 15 minutes write. Send me your results. I promise I will post again this week. I won’t leave you or me hanging for another month.
