A special evening mini-course. Creating Your Life Story.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009 @ 8 -9 PM EST.

Hosted by Sandra Lee Schubert, Creator of Writing for Life: Creating a Story of Your Own.

What people have said about Sandra’s course:

P.Ellis, California, noted. . .
“This course did not come at me too fast. I could get to it a little at a time. Some lessons took more time than others; but that balanced with the easy ones. I have been able to see myself in a different way. Set me on a new path; thought provoking.”

Sue Coulston, from Australia, had this to say about this course. . .
“This course is quite in depth, taking the person into many ways to rediscover forgotten memories, and helps one to put these ideas, memories into an order. This has been helpful for me as I tend to get swamped and don’t quite know how to put it all down. Many thanks for this highly beneficial course.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Karen Rippstein, from New York, commented. . .
“Through innovative exercises, Sandra Schubert helped me create a container for my innermost feelings where I had a chance to gain insight and awareness. Through journal writing and scrapbooking, I was able to record personal experiences and honor the moments in my life that sought authenticity and validation. Because Sandra’s unique approach to journal writing is so liberating, I highly recommend the Writing for Life course to creative writers, therapists, and teachers for their own possibilities and that of their clients in the healing power of language.”

Lissette Gutiérrez, from New Jersey, noted. . .
“The Writing for Life e-course provided many wonderful exercises that motivated my creativity and opened up new channels for my writing.”

Phyllis Haynes, Producer for Sweetspot Communications Inc., commented. . .

Clarity and purpose are linked in this inviting journey. Writing for Life: Creating a Story of Your Own is a gentle and well thought out program to guide the writer without interference. This is a journey that helps one discover more about the inner self. This should be a mandatory 101 course for all freshmen everywhere.

Dani Antman, a healer and artist from New Jersey, had this to say about the course. . .
In reviewing the creative writing course, I was impressed with the large variety of exercises given to stimulate the imagination and get folks writing quickly. I like the format, which is specific and focused on one or two things for each lesson. This enables people to not build up too much resistance or procrastination. I liked the quotes picked by the author and the examples of processes that were shared. All in all, if someone follows this course they will have a large writing file, with a variety of topics that they could explore further. I would recommend this course.

James W. Pennebaker, PhD author Opening Up: The Healing Power of Expressing Emotions, noted:
“Writing for Life: Creating a Story of Your Own” is a creative and thoughtful guide to self-understanding. In 20 lessons, she takes the students’ hands and leads them through a series of exercises that deal with family, spirituality, health, the future and the past, and other topics central to human existence. This is a very nice journaling project that could be helpful for millions.

Frank Watt of New York, NY, said this about this course. . .

This excellent course has opened up the doorway of self-discovery that hasallowed me to identify my true self. I wholeheartedly recommend it to all. Lesson 20, the final lesson begins with the question: “What’s Next”? The question seems to be indicating that life in a sense is lived backwards in order to go forward. To continue to write for life is to find out who I am and why I live. Writing about my life story will indeed lead me closer and closer to my true identity as it generates the needed energy to complete my journey. There is much more hidden within my life that needs to be explored and mined, for when I unite the past with the present, the hidden treasure is then discovered. My journal will be supported by inspired reflections that will define “Who I am”.

“Really,it’s good for all of us to hear it again,” she said. “Stories
have to be told or they die, we can’t remember who we are or why we’re here.”
August, The Secret Live of Bees, Sue Monk Kidd

Dear Friend,

It is more important then ever for each of us to know and preserve our stories. It is through knowing ourselves we can become compassionate and generous with those around us. We come to appreciate life’s journey. This is mini-course begins the process of revealing who you are through your stories.  Each of us adds texture and beauty to the planet. Our stories are valuable. You are valuable.

Consider these Questions:

- Who are you?
- What is your story?
- What are the life experiences that have made up the person reading this right now?
- If you were to view your life from an outsider’s point of view, what would you see?

Tuesday, May 5, 2009 @ 8 -9 PM EST.

“The extreme expression of his spirit was in his story. He was a wonderful storyteller. The story was his most sacred possession. These people know what we do not: that without a story you have not got a nation, or a culture, or a civilization. Without a story of your own to live you haven’t got a life of your own.”
- Laurens Van Der Post, when writing about the Kalahari Bushman

Visualize Meeting You!

Take a moment and imagine that you are meeting you for the first time.

-What is your first impression?
Are you interesting? Are you a sad or happy person? This is the initial impression of meeting yourself. Sometimes that impression is wrong. Maybe there is more to the person then meets the eye. Don’t you want to find out?

In this mini-course you will learn how to:

  • Unleashing Your Creativity, self-discovery and self-healing.
  • A unique means to tell your story for yourself and/or for generations to come.
  • Developing or enhancing a foundation of journaling – that is, writing for life.
  • Opportunities to bring your story into the world.

Do you know who Susan Boyle is? You may have seen her performance on Britain’s Got Talent. Her appearance is one of the most viewed videos on YouTube. Before the show Britain’s Got Talent shot her to instant stardom, her story was unknown. Born with a birth defect, she was teased as a child. At age 47, unemployed, and mourning the loss of her beloved mother; she was at her bottom.
After just one appearance on TV she has gone from a dowdy looking middle-aged woman with overgrown eyebrows to a well-tweezed leather wearing media sensation.

Is Susan Boyle’s story remarkable?

Yes and no.

Maybe you can relate to being an average looking person. Or, you are unemployed. You could be mourning the loss of someone you loved. These are the everyday events of all of us. Susan, in that regard, is not remarkable.

What makes Susan remarkable is her willingness to step out into the world with her story. It is an “every person” story. One that you and I can relate to. We each have our stories to tell.

Everyone has a story. You. Me. Everyone.

Begin now to build the foundation now for creating your story. Don’t let it be told by someone else. Remember how people made assumptions about Susan Boyle by just looking at her? They already had a preconceived story about who she was. But, Susan had a different idea- She told her own story. Tell your story now. Who is best served by this mini-course? Anyone who is interested in telling their unique story. In this one evening presentation You will discover techniques for,

  • Unleashing Your Creativity, self-discovery and self-healing.
  • A unique means to tell your story for yourself and/or for generations to come.
  • Developing or enhancing a foundation of journaling – that is, writing for life.
  • Opportunities to bring your story into the world.

Don’t hesitate. Now is the time to tell your unique story. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 @ 8 -9 PM EST.
